, Britney Spears’ publicist confirmed that the pop star will not be performing at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
“Contrary to media reports, Britney was never slated to perform on this year’s VMAs,” Larry Rudolph, Spears’ manager at Jive Records, said in a statement. “She’s in the middle of recording her next album, which is going amazingly well, and her focus remains on the studio.”

Popstar Britney Spears is planning to return to MTV’s VMA accompanied by Olympic golden boy Michael Phelps, it has emerged.
The ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ hitmaker has expressed her wish to present the show, after her manager scrapped her live performance at the show.
 ”She hopes to share the stage with Michael Phelps,” Contactmusic quoted a source, as telling US weekly.
