For Britney Spears’ “Radar” video, the pop star ditched the writhing
dance moves to explore what the video’s director calls “the romance of
high-end society and the guys that circulate around there.” The video,
inspired in part by Madonna’s 1994 “Take a Bow” video, was directed by
Britney’s longtime video collaborator Dave Meyers, who worked with
Britney on her videos for “Lucky” and “Boys” as well as the commercial
for her Curious fragrance. The new video centers on Britney being torn
between two love interests: a rich guy and a polo player. (Spoiler
alert: She picks the polo player.) “She was in a really good headspace
and open to trying new things, and I wanted to try some new things
with her too,” Meyers told MTV News. “It kind of was a great
celebration of trusting one another. … Now we’re sort of both
seasoned in our own rights, so it’s like two people coming back
together, trying to do something fresh and new … seeking out an
actual different technique and stylistic choices and trying to find a
form to celebrate them in.”

Meyers said when he met up with Spears in May in Santa Barbara,
California, he had a specific vision: to show the world Britney’s
“classy side,” instead of the images of a sexed-up Spears that we’re
all used to seeing. It’s the kind of Britney we saw in her video for
“Lucky,” except more grown-up.

“I thought, ‘It’s not the first single [from Circus]. Let’s be a
little experimental and push to not have her around dancers,’ ” Meyers
said. “I feel, I guess, that the videos are a chance for her to
vocalize a sense of herself. The media tends to attack her, so I
thought, ‘Let’s show the classy side of Britney and focus on a classy
experience, very European-inspired.’ And she’s at the point in her
career where I think this would be a nice step.”

Pop star Britney Spears has gained 14 pounds in just one month
following a break in her world tour and is now under pressure to lose
it.

“She was in tears saying they’re calling her fat again. She showed up
to a meeting with a latte in her hand and everyone jumped on her.
Britney’s supposed to be eating a diet of fish, chicken and
vegetables. When she swaps the healthy stuff for junk, her dad gets
worried,” contactmusic.com quoted a source as saying.

Spears’ father Jamie, who became co-conservator of his daughter’s
personal and professional life following her breakdown last year, put
her on a strict exercise and diet regime as he knows how important it
is for her to look good.

However, Spears who has two sons - Sean, 3, and two-year-old Jayden,
is struggling to stick to the health plan and regularly indulges in
calorific treats. “She doesn’t think about the calories in the food,
just that she likes it. She loves greasy food and creamy sweets and
hates fruits and vegetables. She still eats a lot of fast food -
mainly late at night,” added the source.

Eating from a healthy selection of raw plant food
might go a long way in helping keep one satiated, while healthy and
trim.

The singer is currently rehearsing for the European leg of her Circus
world tour.

Although Britney has been quite busy with rehearsal sessions, to the
point that she even collapsed during rehearsal recently, she
is not letting touring take up all of her professional scheduling.

Spears has taken time to return to the studio to start on her
next album.

Britney Spears has taken time out of her busy rehearsal sessions for
her ongoing Circus tour to head back into the studio and begin work on
her next album.

She has stated that she’s already coming up with new tunes
for a sequel album to the “Circus” release in 2008.

Additionally, she has rejoined Max Martin, a longtime collaborator
and the brains behind her early hit songs, “Oops, I Did It Again”
and “Baby One More Time”. They met up during a stop on the
tour while in the producer’s home country, Sweden.

Britney tweeted on Sunday, “In Stockholm in the studio with
Max Martin.”

Today the Daily Star reveals that the new “romance” rumors
circulating about her agent, Jason Trawick, and her are a sham.

Supposedly she was wildly in love with Jason, and some purported that
an engagement had even occurred.

However, Britney’s biographer, Steve Dennis, has put those rumors to
pasture, after speaking with Jason’s associates at the William Morris
Agency (WMA) in Los Angeles.

He revealed, regarding the 37 year old Jason: “It’s not the first time
he’s been linked with her. What’s surprising second time around is
that everyone seems to have swallowed it hook, line and sinker.”

We wonder, have the effects of marijuana clouded people’s judgment and
helped build rumor mills? It is indeed time for all such people to quit smoking marijuana. It is
the right thing to do when addicted to pot.

When someone at his own agency dismisses the truth of the relationship, it’s got ‘red herring’ written all over it.

He expounded: “A person at William Morris who knows Jason told me, ‘Of course, it’s not true.’ And I think there is mild amusement that this ‘relationship’ story has grown legs, let alone been taken seriously.

“Jason is a great guy who’s been a support for Britney.”

“But he’s more protector and adviser than boyfriend. All talk of romance is a non-starter.”

So what of these rumors? How did they start?

At least in her new music video (link at full article) she does.

“Radar” is the fourth single from Britney Spears’ sixth studio
album entitled “Circus”. It was originally recorded for her 5th
studio album “Blackout”, but was canceled from going on that album due
to her working on her new album “Circus” at the time.

The “Radar” music video was shot on May 27 and 28,2009 at the Bacara
Resort Spa which is located north of Santa Barbara,California. Dave
Meyers directed the video.

Newspaper Photogs Boycott Britney Spears Concert

STOCKHOLM Four major Swedish newspapers have threatened to boycott a
Britney Spears concert in Stockholm because of restrictions imposed on
their photographers.

Spears is scheduled to perform in the Swedish capital on July
13.Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Expressen and Aftonbladet say
they won’t send photographers to the show unless Spears agrees to
scrap certain conditions on how the images can be used.

The contract bars the papers from reselling the pictures and from
publishing them more than 30 days after the concert.

Fans of pop star Britney Spears are worried about her health again
after she collapsed during a recent rehearsal on the European leg of
her Circus world tour. The ‘Toxic’ hitmaker was practising a dance
routine for a new song when she keeled over, suffering a bruise to her
chest, reported IANS-WENN.

“She collapsed when the dancers went to put her back on her feet. She
fell to the floor and landed on one of the dancers’ legs,” said a
source. “The dancer’s tennis shoe smacked Britney in the chest and on
the face. It hit her chest with such a force that it caused a
four-inch bruise,” added the source. It was reported that Britney’s
hectic tour schedule and a low blood-sugar level were responsible for
the incident.

International icon Britney Spears took to the polo field for her
latest music video “Radar” and latest Candie’s marketing campaign.
The junior brand outfitted Spears for the video with apparel,
footwear, jewelry and accessories available exclusively at Kohl’s
Department Stores. Candie’s will use footage from Britney’s “Radar”
music video for its fall television commercial which will debut later
this summer, and the print campaign will premiere in September issues
of fashion, entertainment and lifestyle magazines.

The music video and television commercial features Spears who becomes
intrigued by a handsome player at a polo match who ultimately gets
caught in her radar. On location in Santa Barbara at a private
estate, complete with its own polo field and horse ranch, famed
director, Dave Meyers, shot the TV commercial and fashion
photographer, Matthew Rolston, shot the print ad campaign. Commenting
on her “Radar” video, Britney Spears stated, “I was so excited to wear
Candie’s in my ‘Radar’ video. I especially loved their jeans and cute
dresses which were perfect for the theme of my video.”

Britney Spears took the stage at her final Paris concert last night, showing
off her abs in yet another one of her tour costumes before she heads to Belgium
for Thursday’s show. While she performed, Kevin Federline and his girlfriend
took the boys to see Ice Age 3 before playing hide and seek at a Parisian park
this morning. Britney is in high demand: after selling out multiple concerts in

MICHAEL JACKSON ‘WARNED BRITNEY’

Michael Jackson reportedly advised Britney Spears to retire from the music
industry to focus on life with her family.

Michael Jackson warned Britney Spears not to “end up” like him.

The late ‘Thriller’ star - who died of a suspected cardiac arrest on June 25 -
reportedly telephoned the 27-year-old singer a few weeks before his death and
told her to retire from the music industry and focus on family life.

A friend of Britney’s said: “Michael told her, ‘Don’t end up like me.’ His
warning was eerie, like he was trying to tell Britney he was going to die.”

The pair had remained friends since they famously performed ‘The Way You Make
Me Feel’ together at Michael’s 30th anniversary celebration concert in New
York’s Madison Square Garden in 2001. The source added to Britain’s Look
magazine: “I think Michael’s warning sent shivers down Britney’s spine. He was
emphatic in warning her she should leave showbusiness in order to maintain her
sanity. He thought she should retire after the ‘Circus’ tour so she could focus
on the things that mattered - her sons and family. Britney must have taken
Michael’s words to heart as she promised him she would at least take a long
break after she finished the tour.”

Britney recently spoke out about her devastation at learning about Michael’s death.

She said: “I was so excited to see his show in London. We were going to be on
tour in Europe at the same time and I was going to fly in to see him. He has
been an inspiration throughout my entire life and I’m devastated he’s gone!”
